- Iranian football team arrived here Thursday and was warmly welcomed by
the country`s embassy officials.
Iran, which is preparing for the opening match of the 13th Asian Nations
Cup against Thailand is scheduled to leave for Chung Ching city, the
venue of the competitions, at 11:45 local hours.
President of Iran`s Football Federation, Mohammad Daadkan, and managing
director of Pas Cultural-Sports Club, Mehdi Daadras, are accompanying
the team.
Midfielder Hamed Kavianpour was sidelined due to the knee injury he
picked in the last training session.
Iran meets the Thai side on July 20.
Group D comprises Iran, Thailand, Japan, and Oman.
